Having been part of the construction industry for over 16 years, Nick’s experience across various roles allows him to look at projects from many different perspectives.
Following studying Architectural Technology and Draughting at Christchurch Polytechnic (now Ara), Nick has worked as a Sales Rep and Detailer within the aluminium joinery and frame and truss industry and as an Account Manager for Carters before joining us as Construction Manager at Hazeldine over 5 years ago.
An integral part of the team at Hazeldine, as Construction Manager Nick’s role involves a number of different responsibilities; such as early engagement with clients, quoting and tendering for jobs and on site construction management including programme planning with subcontractors. Nick is also part of our health and safety committee.
In his time with us, Nick has been involved in some capacity, small and large, across all of our projects. Most recently he was responsible for quoting, coordinating and project managing work at Riverview Terraces in Kaiapoi; a project comprised of two commercial buildings with multiple tenants.
Nick is known by our team and clients as an all-round, top bloke!
Although he still spends much of his time working alongside his company’s builders he has honed his skills in project management, overseeing tasks ranging in scale from residential builds to major commercial developments.
Key components of Jared’s role in the company include site and project management, apprenticeship training, client and supplier relationships. We also know him as our ‘solutions guru’.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the building industry Jared has learnt how best to overcome obstacles and he doesn’t give up on a challenge. One of the greatest strengths he brings to any project is his willingness to learn new skills and solutions in an ever changing and advancing building industry.
Despite the growth in the company over the past decade and the number of exciting projects we have completed, Jared still feels the best aspect of his job is working alongside the talented and dedicated team.
Jasmine is the company office manager and a key point of contact for clients. Jasmine and Jared both place the highest importance on communicating with clients, taking the time to genuinely understand their vision and goals, and keeping them informed throughout the construction process.
“By constantly talking to our clients we arm them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions, while regular updates ensure there’s never any nasty surprises waiting for them at the end of the project. It’s about the emotional and practical journey you take when building,” says Jasmine. “With so many important decisions to make assistance can come in many shapes and forms. We enjoy supporting our clients every step of the way.
Andrew has over six years’ experience in the building and construction industry. Having first had a taste with Rectory Homes in the UK with site co-ordination and logistics, Andrew returned to the NZ construction industry to project manage for Horncastle Homes. While there, he project managed over 100 residential builds across Canterbury. A highlight was overseeing the Prestons Park Horncastle Showhome.
Since joining Hazeldine Construction, Andrew has enjoyed the wider variety of builds and being involved in a tight knit team. He is known for his amazing relationship with subcontractors and is fantastic with clients. He brings a lot of knowledge around systems and how to implement them.
